Two friends stand off in a parking lot fighting over who was wrong and why
I act as a great divide rather than choosing to take a side
One said, "He betrayed my trust with just one phone call!"
The other said, "I did it to try to save your life".
One said, "All you did was stall for time that both of us regret. I never want to see your face again".
The other said, "As long as you're alive, your hatred of me won't matter in the end".
Oh, I said, "I don't want to choose a side. It's not like I can flip a coin to decide who is right in these situations. This is where I draw the line; I don't want to lose either friend of mine tonight based on the dichotomy of these accusations!"
One had been drinking and the other one's sober. I'm just hoping this will be over soon. I wanted to talk down the drunk one, but that's when the real damage was done.
I saw the re-opened scars that traveled up and down his arms
I only started to feel worse because I had reactivated his curse!
